Rep. Charles Murphy Leaving Beacon Hill For Private Sector Job
BOSTON (CBS) - State Representative Charles Murphy is stepping down.
The Burlington Democrat, who served in the House since 1997, plans to leave Beacon Hill at the end of July for a job as vice president of public policy at a health care IT consulting company.
Murphy was named Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee in 2009, after helping Speaker Bob DeLeo secure that post, but two years later was reassigned when DeLeo suspected Murphy of plotting a coup.
