Registration Begins For 9/11 Memorial Passes
BOSTON (CBS) - Registration began online Monday morning for tickets to visit the new September 11th Memorial at the site of the World Trade Center.
Final construction is still wrapping up, but the plaza is scheduled to open for victims' families on the tenth anniversary of the attacks.
The memorial consists of twin pools marking where the towers stood, surrounded by bronze parapets on which are engraved the names of the nearly 3,000 people killed on 9/11 and in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
It opens to the public Sept. 12. Visitors must reserve a pass in advance, for a specific date and time.
You can sign up for passes at www.911memorial.org.
