Regisration Now Closed For Boston Half Marathon
BOSTON (AP) -- The Boston Half Marathon is all filled up.
Registration for the Oct. 9 race closed after 3 hours, 50 minutes when the 7,000-entry limit was reached. It's another quick sellout for the Boston Athletic Association, which last year saw the 27,000-entry field for its signature race -- the Boston Marathon -- close in just eight hours.
The B.A.A. Half Marathon course follows the Emerald Necklace park system in Boston and Brookline. Some of the money from the entry fees goes to help maintain the parks, which were developed by famous landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead.
Runners will compete for a total purse of $30,000.
