Red Sox Spring Training: Gonzalez Gets Day Off
FORT MYERS, Fla (CBS) - Here are some quick hits from Red Sox spring training on Wednesday.
- Manager Terry Franconca said first baseman Adrian Gonzalez got the day off as a "regen(eration) day." He will be back in the cage Thursday after hitting off a tee on Monday and Tuesday.
- Dustin Pedroia said his foot remains pain-free, but still has to do an hour and a half of rehab before he starts the day's workouts. He is also wearing cleats now for the entire workout, rather than stretching in a pair of tennis shoes. Talk about earth shattering news!
- Clay Buchholz chimes in on the "100-wins" prediction. He also dares hitters to hit the ball to left-center field, with Jacoby Ellsbury and Carl Crawford patrolling out there now. Buchholz said that duo "puts the cherry on top of everything."
- Outfielder Darnell McDonald, a Denver Nuggets fan, gives his thoughts on the Carmelo Anthony trade. Knick fans couldn't be happier. Nugget fans, not so much.

- In case you haven't seen it yet, Dan Roche brought back a bunch of goodies from Spring Training (no souvenirs though) including this blooper reel. Stand-ups are a lot harder than they look!
