Red Sox Roster Set For ALDS; Doubront In, Thornton, Bradley Jr. Out
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Red Sox' 25-man roster for their American League Division Series with the Tampa Bay Rays is set.
As John Farrell said earlier this week he went with 11 pitchers on the roster, with Felix Doubront edging out Matt Thornton for the final spot.
Rookie Jackie Bradley Jr. was left off the roster in favor of speedy outfielder Quinton Berry.
Bradley Jr. will now head to Boston's Spring Training facilities in Fort Myers, Florida, along with pitchers Drake Britton and Rubby De La Rosa and infielder Brandon Snyder, to stay fresh in case their services are needed later during the postseason.
