Red Sox Opening Day Ceremonies
BOSTON (CBS) - The Red Sox may be limping back to Boston at 1-5 for their home opener, but there is little doubt the team has one heck of a show planned for Friday.
The ceremonies begin at 1:30pm, and the team is requesting fans take their seats by 1:15pm. The Red Sox' game against the Rays scheduled to begin at 2:05pm.
While the most interesting part may be the fans reaction during the Red Sox' introductions, here is a quick rundown of what is planned for Opening Day at Fenway.
- Members of the Boston Pops and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus conducted by James Orent will perform the National Anthem.
- Military personnel from Hanscom Air Force Base will be on hand to present the colors.

- There will be a fly-over by the "Green Mountain Boys" of Vermont in F-16 jets at the conclusion of the National Anthem. The "Green Mountain Boys" are pilots from the Air National Guard's 134th Fighter Squadron.
-For the 10th straight season, a giant American flag will drapes the Green Monster during the ceremonies.
- As part of the "Fenway 100" celebrations, fans will see new displays, historic photographs, and memorabilia throughout the park.
- 11-year-old Rosie Newton of St. Albans, Vermont, will sing God Bless America during the 7th inning stretch.
Details of the first pitch ceremony will not be announced in advance, but word tends to spread closer to game time.
Fenway Park will celebrate its 100th birthday on Friday, April 20 when the New York Yankees come to town.
