Red Sox Lose 5-1 to Tigers
The Red Sox lost to the Tigers 5-1 Sunday afternoon. Detroit took two out of three in the series. John Lackey (4-2) suffered the loss giving up all 5 runs over 7 innings of work.
Dustin Pedroia was scratched from the lineup with a sore knee. It's the first game all season that Pedroia has missed.
The Sox continue their road trip Monday night in New York against the Yankees. Daisuke Matsuzaka will be on the mound in the series opener with Josh Beckett returning to the rotation on Tuesday.
