Red Sox, Lester Go For .500 Against Blue Jays
BOSTON (CBS) - Is the third time the charm for the Boston Red Sox?
The Red Sox will take their third shot at getting to .500 for the first time this season on Tuesday night when they open up a two-game series with the Blue Jays in Toronto.
If the Sox win to get to .500 on Tuesday, it would be the latest it took the team to break-even in a season since 1996, when it took until late August.
If the Sox cannot do it with Jon Lester on the mound, maybe it just was not meant to be. Lester has won his last four starts, posting a 1.33 ERA, while going at least six innings each time out.
Boston has had success against Toronto this season, taking three of four from the Jays at Fenway in April. The Red Sox outscored the Jays 21-3 in the three wins, thanks in large part to Jed Lowrie. The Sox utility man drove in eight runs in the series, going 9-for-15 at the plate.

Boston will look to build on a three-game win streak and are coming off another walk-off win thanks to the bat of Carl Crawford. Crawford hit a game-winning double in the bottom of the 11th Monday night to lift the Sox 2-1 over the Twins.
It was Crawford's second game-winning hit in the last eight days. He is hitting .361 for the month of May and already has 13 hits in nine games after having just 15 in the month of April.
