Red Sox Game 1 Lineup: Bogaerts Batting 7th, Ross Behind Plate For Lester
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Red Sox' lineup for Game 1 of the World Series is a little different from the one they featured at the end of the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers, with rookie Xander Bogaerts working his way up the order.
Bogaerts once again gets the start at third base in place of Will Middlebrooks, but will bat seventh in the Boston lineup as they kick off the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals at Fenway Park. Shortstop Stephen Drew gets bumped down to the eight-spot in the order, with catcher David Ross batting ninth.

The 21-year-old Bogaerts started the final two games of Boston's ALCS against Detroit, going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three walks out of the eighth and ninth spot in the lineup.
Ross gets another start behind the plate with Sox lefty Jon Lester on the mound. The veteran backstop is one of the few members of the Red Sox with limited experience against Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright, collecting two hits in 11 career at-bats against the St. Louis righty.

The only other Red Sox starters with experience against Wainwright are Shane Victorino, Jonny Gomes and Drew, who are a combined 9-for-51 against him. Victorino is a career 5-for-22 with a homer and three RBIs against Wainwright.
