Ellsbury Out 6 Weeks With Shoulder Injury
BOSTON (CBS) - Jacoby Ellsbury had to leave the Red Sox home opener on Friday after injuring his shoulder in the bottom of the fourth inning.
WBZ has learned that he will miss a minimum of six weeks.
The Red Sox center fielder was sliding into second as the Rays turned a double-play on a Dustin Pedroia grounder, when Tampa shortstop Reid Brignac came down hard on Ellsbury's right shoulder.
Ellsbury was down on the field in pain as team trainers tended to him.

He was taken to the hospital after the game.
Ryan Sweeney entered the game for Ellsbury, with Cody Ross moved from right field to center and Sweeney taking over at right.
