Red Sox Drop 2 at Fenway
The Red Sox lost both Friday night's suspended game and Saturday's regularly scheduled game to the Tampa Bay Rays Saturday night.
The Rays' Pat Burrell hit a two-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give Tampa Bay a 3-1 win in the game, more than 25 hours after the the first pitch. Friday night's game was suspended by rain in the middle of the ninth inning, tied 1-1.
Burrell also hit a three-run double in the first inning of the nightcap off Clay Buchholz. The Rays went on to win 6-5, despite home runs by the Red Sox Marco Scutaro, Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis.
The Sox and Rays play the third game of the series Sunday afternoon.
