Buchholz Scratched Again, Lester Set To Start Friday vs. Yankees
BOSTON (CBS) - After feeling more discomfort in his AC joint while throwing a bullpen session on Wednesday, Clay Buchholz has been pushed back once again.
The Red Sox were hoping Buchholz, who missed his scheduled start on Monday against the Phillies, would be able to pitch Friday as the team begins a three-game set against the New York Yankees. Now, manager John Farrell has shuffled his rotation once again due to Buchholz's discomfort -- which the team says comes from him falling asleep with his young daughter on his shoulder --with Jon Lester getting the ball on Friday.
Frankline Morales, who was activated from the disabled list on Tuesday, will get the start for Boston on Thursday against the Phillies.

The team is hopeful that Buchholz may be able to pitch the series finale on Sunday, but will list Felix Doubront as their starter until his situation becomes a little more clear.
"He feels improved, but still feels some symptoms in that AC joint," Farrell told reporters in Philadelphia on Wednesday. "When he mentioned that, this is something I took out of his hands. I made the decision to give him a couple other days. He's still possible in the New York series, but while he's feeling improved we felt it best to give him a couple other days."

Buchholz is 7-0 with an American League-best 1.73 ERA this season, but has not pitched since May 22.
