Red Sox Announce 2012 Schedule, Return To Wrigley
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Red Sox released their 2012 season schedule on Wednesday, with Boston once again opening their season on the road.
The Red Sox open the season on Thursday, April 5 against the Tigers in Detroit. After getting Friday off, they conclude the three-game series on Saturday and Sunday, followed by a three-game series in Toronto.

The Sox home opener is Friday, April 13 against the Tampa Bay Rays, part of a four-game series. Boston's nine-game homestand continues with three games against the Texas Rangers, and concludes with a three-game series with the New York Yankees.
The Red Sox will celebrate Fenway Park's centennial on Friday, April 20 when the Yankees series kicks off, 100 years to the date that Boston's American League club took on the New York Highlanders for the first game in the ballpark's storied history.

In Interleague play, the Red Sox will visit Philadelphia, Miami and Chicago. The June 15-17 series against the Cubs will mark just the second time Boston has played at Wrigley during the regular season. They also visit the Marlins, now the Miami Marlins, and their new stadium June 19-21.
The Marlins, Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals are the National League teams coming to Fenway in 2012.
The Red Sox close out the season with a three-game series in New York against the Yankees.
