Red Sox ALDS Game 3 Lineup: Nava Set For Playoff Debut
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Red Sox look to clinch a spot in the ALCS Monday night and sweep the Tampa Bay Rays out of the ALDS.
After taking Games 1 and 2 at Fenway in convincing fashion, the Red Sox will change their lineup a bit with a right-hander on the mound for Tampa. Daniel Nava is set to make his playoff debut, batting sixth and taking over for Jonny Gomes in left field.
The 30-year-old Nava hit .322 with 10 home runs against righties this season and has four hits and three RBIs in 14 career at-bats against Tampa starter Alex Cobb.
Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia will be back behind the plate after getting Saturday night off for Boston. He is a career 2-for-10 against Cobb with a double and four walks.
On the mound for the Red Sox is Clay Buchholz, who has a career 2.26 ERA at Tropicana Field -- the best among active pitches with at least nine that many starts.
