Red Sox 10/1 To Win World Series In 2014

BOSTON (CBS) - The champagne is barely dry and the duck boats have yet to carry the 2013 World Series champions through the city of Boston, but it's never too early to look ahead to next season.

After winning 108 games (regular season and playoffs) en route to their third World Series title in the last nine years, the Boston Red Sox are NOT the favorites to win it all in 2014.

No, that honor belongs to a team comprised of some former Red Sox castoffs, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

MAZZ: 2013 Red Sox A Wonderful Complement Of Imperfect Pieces

Courtesy of Bovada, the Dodgers are 7/1 favorites to win it all in 2014. They're followed by the currenlty manager-less Detroit Tigers, who the Red Sox handled in six games in the ALCS, one spot ahead of Boston.

The Red Sox have 10/1 odds at winning it all, tying them with the St. Louis Cardinals (yes, those same Cardinals they just beat) and the Washington Nationals.

One thing to take into consideration though: the Red Sox were 22/1 to win the World Series prior to the 2013 season. Take that, Vegas!

Elsewhere in the AL East, the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays are both 16/1 to win it all in 2014, with the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays getting 25/1 odds.
