Red Cross Offers Coping Tips On Marathon Bombings Anniversary
BOSTON (AP) — The American Red Cross shares helpful tips on how to prepare for the emotional struggles the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings may elicit.
The April 15 attack, which killed three and injured more than 260, left scars that are still healing.
The Red Cross advises that the anniversary may bring to the surface feelings of fear, sadness and anxiety from last year.
It suggests that people leave their schedules free a few days before and after the anniversary, spend time with loved ones and friends and limit media exposure.
If you have children make sure to prep them on what they can expect.
Mental Health volunteers will be at the Hynes Convention Center during the anniversary tribute and more than 30 volunteers stationed along the course during the marathon.
