Records Could Fall...

Strong airmass thunderstorms have developed near the MA/NY line that along with a fast moving squall line flying through Upstate NY has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 11PM for all of Western and Central MA and SW NH including Worcester and some MetroWest suburbs of Boston.  The primary threat with the pulse t-storms is large hail but with the fast moving line it's damaging straight line winds.

With the coldfront approaching tomorrow evening, there will be much more of a pressure gradient so no seabreeze tomorrow in fact, it will be an extremely hot and slightly drier west wind...so we will literally bake in the city tomorrow.  The record is 96 set back in 1984 an I see no reason why that won't at least be tied if not broken.  In fact, with that offshore wind, Boston will probably be one of the hottest locals in all of New England and could even touch 100 degrees!

The front should be much more active tomorrow evening and large and dangerous storms will likely form out ahead of it...the primary threat will be damaging straight line wind again within any storms.

Relief from the heat will follow the front for Friday...highs near 80 and much less humid.  The weekend is still looking unsettled with overrunning showers possible as early as Saturday afternoon now and more showers likely on Sunday.
