Record Setting Temperatures Monday And Beyond
BOSTON (CBS) - If this is winter, I cant wait for spring!
The winter that wasn't is going out with a bang, or should we say a "mild" whimper.

Just about every major New England city saw record warmth on Monday including Boston where it hit 73 at Logan Airport, breaking the record set way back in 1903.
Worcester reached 76 degrees, smashing the old record of 71 set in 1894.
The Vernal Equinox officially arrives at 1:14 a.m. Tuesday and more records are likely to come with it.
Here are the current record high temperatures for Boston and Worcester this week:

WEDNESDAY
Boston: 83 (1921)
Worcester: 71 (1921)
THURSDAY
Boston: 72 (1948)
Worcester: 76 (1938)
FRIDAY

Thanks to a backdoor cold front and an onshore breeze early this week, Boston and locations in eastern Massachusetts will be several degrees cooler than spots well inland.
Temperatures along the Coastal Plain will be mainly in the 50s early in the week climbing into the 60s as you head west and evenutally 70s far away from the Coastline.
The warmest days this week are likely to be Wednesday and Thursday when there is a real shot at 80 degrees for everyone except for the South Coast.
This would also be our best shot at getting another record, although the 83 degree record on Wednesday in Boston seems a bit out of reach.
A cool front will slide through later on Thursday bringing the entire area back to a more reasonable warmth to finish the week.
Temperatures on Friday and next weekend look to be in the upper 50s to near 60, still well above normal.
So can we officially call a wrap on the cold and snow?
Not just yet.
There are some signs that we could get some colder days by the end of March.
This is New England after all. Who could forget the 25.4 inches of snow back on April Fools Day in 1997.
So don't go planting the tomatoes just yet, but a few pansies won't hurt!
