Rainy Pattern Ahead

It's June 1st...the beginning of the Atlantic Hurricane Season '12!

You can click here to take a look at the recap of May '12.   In terms of official climatology for Boston (Logan), the average high temperature was 66.5F, along with 3.43" of rain, which is only .06" below normal for the month.

We will squeeze out another dry day with lots of sunshine.  However, a frontal boundary and an area of low pressure will create a cloudy, rainy, and cool day on Saturday.

Today will be warmest inland as highs reach the lower to middle 70s while the coast will stay in the 60s with a persistent onshore wind...northeast to east to southeast.

If you have been putting off the house cleaning, or watching a movie that you've been yearning to see, or if you need to catch up on your favorite television series, this will be a good weekend to play 'catch-up'. Clouds will take control tonight while rain will being Saturday morning. Rain will be heavy at times throughout the day adding up to approximately .50"-1.0".  Onshore winds will be sustained between 10-25mph, so there may be some minor splashover durnig high tides...10.2 feet @ 9:47am and 11.8 feet @ 10:05pm.  Sunday will continue to be mainly cloudy with a slight chance of seeing a peek or two of sun early in the day.  Otherwise, a few more instability/pop-up showers will develop during the midst of daytime heat. Highs will remain cooler than normal in the middle to upper 60s.

The upper level wind flow will continue to be conducive to cooler-than-average high temps, mainly cloudy skies and spotty afternoon showers throughout the middle of next week.  Breezy onshore winds may create minor splashover along the east-facing beaches throughout this time period as well.  Here's a look at teh weather pattern from a graphical perspective...

Happy FRRRiday! Have a fantastic weekend!

~Melissa :)
