Rain, Rain, & More Rain

As you can tell by the title, rain is the topic of discussion today.  A steady stream of mositure will surge from our south along the eatern periphery of an upper level trough digging deeply into the Great Lakes region.  The rain arrives after the 8am hour so most of you will make it work and school in a dry fashion.  Waves of low pressure will be riding along the boundary producing periods of heavy rain this afternoon, evening, tonight and early Friday.  As it appears with the current track of the surface low pressure centers, many of us will wake up Friday morning with rainfall amounts between 1"-1.5". There will be additional rainfall amounts between .10"-.25" during the day on Friday.   Models are showing a dry slot approaching Southern New England Friday afternoon so I believe the steadiest rain will occur during the morning and becoming more sporadic along with dry periods by Friday afternoon and evening.  All in all, the rainfall totals will be between 1"-2" with some isolated areas as high as 2.5"-3" before the event comes to a halt.

This weekend will include drier and cooler air.

Atlantic Tropical Update:  T.S. Tomas is heading towards Haiti on Friday and the Bahamas on Saturday.  There is potential is will re-strengthen into a hurricane before making landfall in Haiti on Friday.

***Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday @ 2am. Turn your clocks back ONE hour before heading to bed Saturday night.
