Rain, Mild December Day

It will be damp this morning with showers increasing by afternoon and becoming heavier as we approach the evening hours.  Winds will also increase as gusts approach 50mph.  A Wind Advisory will be in effect this afternoon and evening along the South Shore, South Coast, Cape, & Islands.  Highs will be unseasonably warm in the middle to upper 50s. General rainfall amounts will be in between .75"-1.5".  The rain will clear out by midnight tonight.

End of Work Week:  Northwest winds will transport much cooler Continental Polar air into New England.  Besides a few flurries possible during the afternoon on Friday, the work week will end quietly.

First December Weekend 2010:  It's going to have a winter-like feel. Highs will only be in the upper 30s/near 40F.  The models are depicting an upper level trough digging deeper and cutting off into an upper level low. This is why I have chosen to forecast diurnal clouds and a few flurries during the afternoon hours.

BUS STOP FORECAST:  We want pics of your kids to show every morning around 615am. Get creative!  We are getting some adorable pics of kids in their winter gear, standing at the bus stop, sitting in the bus, etcetera.  Submit your pics along with the name(s) and town to weather@wbztv.com.

Halfway to the...Weekend!

Melissa :)
