Police: Quincy Man, Teens Robbed 13-Year-Old With Pellet Gun
QUINCY (CBS) -- Police arrested a Quincy man and three teens Wednesday who they say used a realistic-looking pellet gun to rob a 13-year-old boy.
Erik Ferrara, 21, and the unnamed juveniles, ages 16-17, are each charged with one count of armed robbery. One of the teens has also been charged with witness intimidation.
Quincy Police were called to the Lincoln-Hancock Community School on Granite Street around 7 p.m. Tuesday. There, the young boy told them that a man and three teens had approached him at a playground, and said one of the teens took money from his backpack.
According to the boy, that teen pulled what looked to be a handgun out of his backpack, and said he would hurt the boy if he called police.
Police found Ferrara and three male teenagers, who all fit the boy's description of the suspects, nearby. After the four consented to a search of their backpacks by officers, police said they found the pellet gun in the backpack of one of the teens, a 17-year-old.
Police said the pellet gun was heavy and metallic, resembling a real handgun.
The teens have not been named due to their ages.
