Quiet Weekend...

The soaking Winter storm is heading into the Pine Tree State, AKA Vacationland, AKA The Way Life Should Be, AKA Maine.  But it left behind over an inch of rain for many.  Drier air is working into Western New England and will progress east through the evening leading to clearing skies and colder conditions.  With all the rain and lingering standing water black ice will be an issue in most locals by morning...watch your step!

The weekend will be relatively uneventful, a series of coldfronts will move through so we will be in cooldown mode.  The first front will pass through Saturday night, most will just see a few rain showers but snowflakes may mix in north of Boston.  Sunday will be a little chiller with highs near 40.  Sunday another coldfront will pass through...there are some indications that a weak area of low pressure will spin up along the front as it passes through giving us a brief period of snow and rain so some coating will be possible by Monday morning.  Following the dusting, a blast of modified arctic air and highs struggling to achieve 30 degrees on Monday.  The arctic blast will be short-lived, flurries on Tuesday morning will mark the leading edge of another mild airmass and highs will eclipse 40 again for the middle of next week.

If you are a snow lover, don't give up hope yet...next Friday has potential...coastal low running into marginal cold could produce decent snow...we'll see.
