Watch Melissa Mack's forecast:

Cloudy, cool, and showery conditions will carry us through this Wednesday.

The driest part of the day should be this evening across eastern and southeastern Mass.

This is all 'compliments' of a frontal boundary hanging around southern New England.

East-northeast winds will keep the mercury from making an abrupt spike. So, high temperatures will be in the lower to middle 60s... slightly warmer near the South Coast/Cape/Islands.

Thursday will be much of the same with lots of clouds and a few showers. Highs will be in the middle to upper 60s.

Hurricane Katia will be passing a few hundred miles southeast of Nantucket on Friday.

Dangerous seas and surf (4-12 feet) along with the high risk of rip currents will be the effects we feel and see from this storm.

A High Surf Advisory is in place for the all of the South Coast/Cape/Islands as well as the North Shore coastal areas through Thursday evening.

This will most likely be extended into the weekend.

Otherwise, we will have partly sunny skies on Friday with high temperatures returning to the 70s.

This weekend still looks pretty quiet and seasonable.

However, we need to watch the remnants of Lee that will be meandering across the Midwest/Lower Great Lakes regions.
