Proteau On Toucher & Rich: Could Games Be Coming Soon?
The NHL and the players' association met on Saturday and the talks lasted late into the the night. The two sides will meet again on Tuesday in hopes to put an end to the lockout, which entered its 51st day Monday.
Adam Proteau of The Hockey News joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich to discuss the latest news on the lockout.
If a deal were to get done soon how many games would we probably get?
"I think 60 to 65 would be fine guys. I think 82 games is a pipe dream and people shouldn't be focused on that number anymore and I don't think either side had ever intended to play 82 games."
How will NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman come out looking after his third lockout as commissioner?
"He has been as toxic a commissioner as I can remember in any sport."
The guys also discussed the canceling of the Winter Classic. Why was the game called off so early and was it the right move?
