Prosecutors Ask For $25 Million Asset Forfeiture Ruling Against Whitey Bulger
BOSTON (CBS) - Prosecutors are asking a federal judge to issue a judgment worth more than $25 million against Whitey Bulger's current and future assets.
Under the RICO Act, prosecutors say that Bulger should have to forfeit all proceeds from racketeering, and not just profits.
The prosecutors' request lays out details of money Bulger is believed to have made through extortion, bookmaking and drug dealing.
It puts the total price tag at more than $25 million.

Bulger has already waived his right to have the jury decide whether he must forfeit the $822,000 in cash, guns and personal possessions found in his Santa Monica hideaway when he was captured in June 2011 after 16 years on the run.
But, Bulger had filed a request with the court that he could keep a 1986 Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup ring.
A federal jury convicted Bulger last month on racketeering charges, finding him responsible for 11 murders.
