President Obama campaigning for dems in RI
President Barack Obama will visit Rhode Island to raise money for Democratic congressional candidate David Cicilline and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Invitations obtained by The Associated Press yesterday show Obama will appear at two events in Providence October 25 with Cicilline and the man he hopes to replace, retiring Representative Patrick Kennedy. Also listed as hosting is Representative Jim Langevin (LAN'-juh-vin).
It wasn't immediately clear whether Obama would appear with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Frank Caprio. Caprio's independent rival, Lincoln Chafee, made a high-profile endorsement of Obama during his presidential campaign.
Caprio tells the AP he doesn't have details of any Obama event and wouldn't say if he has sought the president's endorsement.
