$487 Million Powerball Ticket Sold In New Hampshire
RAYMOND, New Hampshire (CBS) -- There's a big winner somewhere in New Hampshire Sunday--but they have yet to come forward and claim their $487 million prize.
Someone bought a winning Powerball ticket at a Hannaford store on Freetown Road in Raymond, New Hampshire.
New Hampshire State Lottery spokeswoman Maura McCann says the winner has one year from the drawing date to claim the prize.
"We certainly hope they don't wait that long," McCann told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kim Tunnicliffe. "This is a lot of money, they can invest that money and make more. So we hope we see them soon."
"This is definitely, by far, the highest amount" ever won in New Hampshire, McCann said.
Here's what $487 million can buy:
-- 82,542 mid-range model Segways, which are manufactured in Bedford, New Hampshire
-- 2,563,157 pairs of Timberland boots, made in Stratford, New Hampshire
-- 30,532,915 2017 Special Edition issues of the Old Farmer's Almanac, published in Dublin, New Hampshire
The winning numbers were 11, 17, 21, 23, and 32, and the Powerball number was 5.
It was New Hampshire's tenth Powerball jackpot winner. The last big winners were Dale Chellis and Toni Sergott, who took home nearly $32 million on a winning ticket at the Plymouth Liquor Store in 2007.
New Hampshire started selling Powerball tickets in 1995.
There was also a $2 million Match 5 winner in Pennsylvania, and there were $1 million winners in 10 different states.
