$1M Powerball Ticket Sold In Plymouth
PLYMOUTH (CBS) -- Nobody won Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot of $500 million--but somebody bought a winning Match 5 ticket, worth $1 million, at a store in Plymouth.
Looking through receipts, Raj, one of the owners of the Express Mart on Court Street, said he doesn't know who bought the ticket. But he can say that he sold about 750 Powerball tickets Wednesday. Some came in for one or two tickets--some for a hundred or more.
"Yesterday one guy bought, I believe, 200 something," said Raj.
He's gearing up for the next couple of days, which he thinks will be crazy now that the Powerball jackpot for Saturday's drawing is up to a record $700 million--he said everyone coming in has been excited.
One customer told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that he plays other games at this store, but not Powerball--and he was now regretting it, since he only plays at this now-lucky store.
"This is the only place I come," he said.
Another man was reading his numbers and doing the math, wondering how disappointing it would be to be just one number off from the $500 million prize and have to 'settle' for $1 million.
"I'd take the million!" several people in the store answered.
