Backyards and basements along Lafayette and Armory Streets are flooded out.
At the request of emergency officials, National Grid cut power to 50-60 homes in the area. One worker said power could be out for days while crews work to pump out all of the water.

"I opened the cellar door, looked down in the cellar, and it was just a river, a river of water rushing in," said Jimmy Cipriano, a Quincy homeowner. "I probably have about 3 and a half, 4 feet of water."
Cripriano added that in the 10-plus years he's lived in Quincy, he has never seen flooding this bad.
The flooded area is two blocks from Wollaston Beach.
