Postal Inspector Uncovers Shipment Of Oxycodone Pills Disguised As Aspirin
EAST BOSTON (CBS) - An East Boston man is facing drug trafficking charges after U.S. Postal Inspectors and Boston police uncovered a shipment of oxycodone pills disguised as aspirin.
Postal inspectors raised concerns over an Express Mail package shipped from Florida to an apartment complex in East Boston.
They called the Boston Police Drug Control Unit, and a drug-sniffing dog determined that the pills were narcotics.
Undercover officers later delivered that package, which contained 1,345 oxycodone pills, to its intended destination.
Carl Desert, 30, of East Boston was arrested after signing for the package.
He's charged with trafficking Class B Drugs in excess of 100 grams and Trafficking Class B Drugs within 100 feet of a school zone.
