Police: Woman Stole Julia Child Cookbooks From Concord, NH Bookstore

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE (CBS) - Police are seeking a woman who allegedly stole multiple Julia Child cookbooks from a Concord, New Hampshire bookstore.

Officers were called to Gibson's Bookstore on Main Street on Monday about a past theft.

The manager told police that the store had a problem with some missing Julia Child cookbooks.

He reported 15 books were missing worth about $500.

After reviewing surveillance video, the manager discovered that an older woman took two books from a shelf and stuffed them under her skirt before leaving the store on April 7.

Police say it appears that when the woman is leaving the store she is holding something between her legs based on the way she was walking.

She is described as being an older woman with white hair.
