At a hockey game on Saturday, students from the rival schools had a fight.
Soon after, police got word of a "rematch" set for Tuesday at the high school after they were tipped off to a heated exchange on Twitter.
After the game, seven people, including four adults, were arrested in a parking lot fight.
Haverhill Lt. Robert Pistone says social media adds a new dimension to dealing with students; words spread faster, it's out on the Internet and police can keep tabs.
Pistone says the tweets prepared police so they had additional officers on hand to prevent a bad situation from getting worse.
