Police: Stun Gun Road Rage Victim Pleaded With Attacker

CONCORD, NH (CBS) - A pregnant woman from Pembroke New Hampshire is still shaken up after being struck in the leg with a taser during a road rage attack.

Carissa Williams is accused of jumping into the woman's car and zapping her with a stun gun on Monday. Police say it was all because Williams thought that woman was driving too slowly.

Police say the 28-year-old woman was driving on Route 3 when all of the sudden, 22-year-old Williams started yelling and throwing bottles and cans at her car because she felt the woman wasn't driving fast enough.

Officers say Williams sped away onto Interstate 93. At the next exit, the other driver caught up with her and called 911 to report her license plate.

That's when investigators say Williams got out of her car, and into the other woman's backseat with a taser.

Concord Police Lieutenant John Thomas described the 911 call as chilling. "When you hear this poor women pleading with the suspect, it opens your eyes as to how road rage can develop into something like this," said Thomas. "You can actually hear the victim pleading, telling her that she's 10 weeks pregnant."

Sgt. Thomas says he has never seen anything like it. "It appears she was angry that the victim was only going 35 miles an hour in a 35 mile-an-hour speed limit, and it upset her, this is the way she handled it. We deal with road rage incidents all the time, this one goes over and beyond anything we've ever dealt with."

Investigators say during the attack, Williams also left her young child alone in her car in the middle of an intersection.

Williams has a lengthy criminal record, and is now being held on 100 thousand dollars cash bail.
