At a press conference Sunday afternoon, police would not talk specifically about the Beacon Hill assault or the two Roxbury assaults last week but Assistant Bureau Chief Kelly Nee says police have stepped up patrols.
"It's scary to know that if you are walking around here it can happen to you," one Boston resident said.
The suspect is being described as a black male with braided hair, about 5-foot-8, and in his late twenties or early thirties.
According to police, he was wearing a "dew rag type hat," a tan colored construction jacket, dark jeans, and dark sneakers.
He was carrying a large blue backpack.
