Police Seek Driver In Lowell Hit-And-Run That Seriously Injured Pedestrian
LOWELL (CBS) - Police are seeking the driver of a 1998 Mazda Protege who struck and seriously injured a pedestrian in Lowell on Saturday night.
At about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, the car hit a 74-year-old Pelham, N.H., man on Pawtucket Boulevard, Lowell Police said. A passerby saw the injured man, who was unconscious in the median, and called 911.
The injured man suffered several broken bones but is expected to survive, the police said. He was taken to Lowell General Hospital for treatment Saturday night and remained at the hospital Sunday. Police have not released his identity.
Investigators said the Mazda sustained damage to its front end and left side, including the left front directional lens assembly and left side mirror.
