Police: Randolph Man Attacked After Road Rage Incident
RANDOLPH (CBS) - A Randolph man will undergo extensive surgery Wednesday, after a road rage incident left him in Beth Israel Hospital.
David Bazer, 25, has a severely broken jaw, courtesy of 30-year-old Phillip Vasialka, according to police.
Bazer's family says it was because Vasialka didn't like the way he was driving. "So he sucker punched him, not once, but twice," said Gail Bazer.
Vasialka lives on Cross Street in Randolph and followed Bazer's car after he drove down the street. When Bazer stopped at a nearby gas station and went in to pay, Vasialka allegedly snuck up behind him, and punched him.
"I would describe someone like that as a coward," says Bazer's fiancee Faren Munger about Vasialka's alleged sucker punch.
"He will have to have screws in his jaw and perhaps a plate for the rest of his life," says Gail Bazer.
"It just makes me sick, but it could be a lot worse," said Faren Munger.
Vasialka will be arraigned in Quincy Wednesday morning.
