Police: Man Wanted In Vermont Murder May Be In Massachusetts

BOSTON (CBS) — A Vermont man suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend may be in Massachusetts, according to investigators.

Jason Kendall, 27, of Windsor, Vermont is wanted on a charge of second-degree homicide.

Vermont State Police say he shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, 22-year-old Molly Helland, Monday.

Helland recently ended a relationship with him after having a child together.

"He fled the scene on foot, but it's believed he is now driving a 1996 silver Honda Accord that he is switching license plates on," Vermont State Police Public Information Officer Scott Waterman said in a statement Tuesday.

"He started with a VT plate, and was supposedly spotted putting on a MA plate in Holyoke at a Denny's."

Police believe the Honda now has Massachusetts license plate 842YM3.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vermont State Police at (802)875-2112.
