Police in Lowell arrested 30-year-old Yina Gonzalez at her Barclay Street home on Saturday. She allegedly gave her 10-year-old nephew a bag with cocaine in it.
Officers watched the boy carry the trash bag off the property. A police dog then sniffed the bag, which had cocaine residue in it, along with a digital scale and $3,000 in cash.
A search of Gonzalez's home turned up more cash hidden in a toilet and a gun.
Police also arrested Freddie Morales-Lugo of Haverhill. They allegedly found a large amount of cocaine and a loaded gun in his car.
Both Morales-Lugo and Gonzalez face drug trafficking charges. Gonzalez also faces a charge of distributing cocaine to a minor.
The two suspects will be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court.
