19-Year-Old Facing Charges After Being Shot By State Trooper In Medford
MEDFORD (CBS) - A 19-year-old man is in the hospital and facing charges following a police-involved shooting overnight.

According to a State Police spokesperson, Stephen Cabrera of Haverhill was driving on Route 16 in Medford Friday morning around 2 a.m. when a State Trooper pulled him over.
Police say the Trooper was walking up to the car when Cabrera hit the gas and tried to run him down.
The Trooper opened fire on the car, hitting Cabrera and a passenger.
The passenger, whose name was not released, as he is not facing charges at this time, was treated at Massachusetts General Hospital and released.
Cabrera remains in the same hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He's facing charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, negligent operation of a vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of a class D substance, operating a vehicle with a registration revoked, speeding, marked lanes violation, failure to stop at red light and failure to stop for police.
The Trooper involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
