Police Investigate Apparent Murder-Suicide In Peabody
PEABODY (CBS) – Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at a home in Peabody.
The Essex County District Attorney's office says it appears the man and woman found dead at the home on Winter Street knew each other.
Just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night, the 51-year-old woman who lives in the home was on the phone with a relative in Brazil when there was an altercation and the line went dead. The relative frantically called police.
Arriving officers found the woman stabbed to death and a man also dead from self-inflicted knife wounds just outside the front door of the home.
Police say they had never been called to the house before.
Their identities have not been released.
