Police ID Tree Worker Killed After Hitting High Voltage Wire

NORFOLK, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have identified the tree worker who died after his chain saw came in contact with power lines in Holliston.

Ryan Hopkins of Norfolk died at a Boston hospital after being shocked and burned while trimming branches from a bucket truck about 20 feet up on Tuesday afternoon.

The 26-year-old Hopkins worked for a commercial landscaping company.

The death is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Mark Ahronion of Ahronian Landscaping and Design called Hopkins a model employee. He had worked for the company for 10 years, starting while still attending Norfolk County Agricultural High School in Walpole.

Hopkins is survived by his mother and a twin brother.
