Police Hope Video Evidence Will Lead To Killer's Arrest
LAWRENCE (CBS) – State and local police are looking for help trying to solve a murder in Lawrence last summer.
20-year-old Timothy Walker was sitting on his porch the night of Saturday, July 24, 2010 when he was shot in the head by a man with a shotgun. He died the next day.
There's still no word on a motive, but police believe Walker was the intended target.
Investigators have now released a video of the gunman, hoping to generate some leads.
Watch the video:
"Normally we don't release evidence in a pending criminal investigation," Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said in a statement, "but the investigation has stalled and we need to take this step. I am urging anyone who may recognize this man, or who has information about this murder to contact either the Lawrence Police or the State Police."
The gunman, who was driven to the scene by another person in a Nissan Murano, is believed to be Hispanic, about 6 feet tall and weighing 220 pounds. He was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and a black baseball cap.
Anyone with information should call Lawrence police at 978-794-5900 or State Police at 978-745-8909.
Walker's organs were donated by his family after his death.
