Police Free Baby From Locked Car In Roxbury
ROXBURY (CBS) - Police freed an 8-month-old baby left unattended in a locked car in Roxbury on Tuesday.
Bystanders at the corner of Palmer and Washington Streets saw the child inside the vehicle and alerted police. Officers noticed the baby crying and sweating profusely while sitting in an "unsecured car seat" and said the rear window was cracked open slightly.
The baby was rushed to Boston Medical Center and is reportedly doing well.
Police arrested 27-year-old Idalia Grant and charged her with cruelty-neglect of a child. Police said she returned to her vehicle after 30 minutes crying hysterically that she forgot the baby.
This incident comes a day after a toddler died inside a van in Dorchester.
