Police: FBI Moved Tsarnaev Family From Revere Hotel

REVERE (CBS) – Family members of convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have been moved by the FBI from Revere.

Revere police confirmed to WBZ-TV that the six witnesses related to Tsarnaev were moved sometime Saturday morning by the FBI from their hotel on Lee Burbank Highway to a new undisclosed location.

Relatives arrived at Logan Airport on Thursday and were brought to the hotel where they were scheduled to stay until they were able to testify.

But hotel management at the Hampton Inn expressed concerns Friday that customers were canceling reservations due to the family's presence.

"I'm a little bit nervous about staying in a hotel where there is (a) terrorist's (family)," hotel guest Alex Konstantinidis told WBZ-TV's Jim Smith.

"It's great we have democracy, but...I think we give way too many rights to people. Do they deserve these rights?"

Konstantinidis said that he thinks Tsarnaev deserves the death penalty, but that he also should get due process.

In addition, Revere police said two "pranksters" from a local radio station had snuck into the hotel in an attempt to find family members' rooms.

Revere Police said they do not know where the Tsarnaev family members were moved to.

Chief Joseph Cafarelli told the Boston Globe on Saturday afternoon that he did not even ask the FBI where the relatives were being moved to, adding "All that matters to me is that they're not in the city of Revere."

Tsarnaev has been convicted for his role in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.

The government rested its case in the death penalty phase. The defense will begin to make its case for life in prison on Monday.
