Chase Ends When Man Crashes Stolen Dump Truck Into Lebanon, NH House, Police Say
LEBANON, N.H. (CBS) -- A chase came to an end early Saturday morning when a man crashed a stolen dump truck into a house in Lebanon, New Hampshire, police say.
The truck driver passed another vehicle by crossing a double yellow line shortly before 12:30 a.m. and police tried to stop the truck but it sped away, according to the Lebanon Police Facebook page.
Officers followed the truck and watched it go around a corner, lose control and roll onto its side before hitting the front of a School Street home, police said. Investigators say the house sustained significant damage.
Police say residents inside the house weren't hurt when the 2003 Chevrolet one-ton dump truck, stolen from a Grantham, N.H. home, struck.
The truck driver, Gabriel Blanche, 20, of Grantham, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
He is facing several charges including two counts of receiving stolen property (class A felony), criminal mischief (class B felony), reckless conduct (class B felony), subsequent driving while intoxicated (class A misdemeanor), disobeying an officer (class A misdemeanor) and driving after suspension (class A misdemeanor).
Blanche was held on $100,000 cash bail at Grafton County jail.
