Police: Cambridge Woman Had Fight With Dad Before His Death
CAMBRIDGE (AP) — A Cambridge woman is facing an assault and battery charge after her 62-year-old father was found dead in the apartment they shared.
Police say 29-year-old Gylene Verna had an argument with Guy Verna in their Elm Street home on Sunday afternoon over her 7-year-old son. Police say she squeezed her father's neck after he struck her. Guy Verna collapsed and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Gylene Verna was ordered held without bail pending dangerousness during a court appearance Monday.
Authorities say an autopsy is scheduled.
Gylene's Verna's lawyer says his client's father had a pre-existing heart condition.
