Plymouth To Show History Channel Thanksgiving Film
PLYMOUTH (AP) -- An exclusive preview of a History Channel documentary on Thanksgiving that was partly filmed at Plimoth Plantation will be seen at the Massachusetts tourist attraction. "The Real History of Thanksgiving" is slated to be screened on Thursday at Plimoth Plantation's Henry Hornblower II Visitor Center.
The film covers the Thanksgiving feast of 1621 between Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indian. It also cover the movement to create a national holiday and discuss forgotten facts like Southern states resistance to the holiday over fears that it abolitionist plot.
Following the screening with be a question and answer session with the film's executive producers.
Plimoth Plantation is a history museum in Plymouth dedicated to life in 1600s Plimoth Colony.
