Plymouth Beaches Reopen Following Shark Sighting
PLYMOUTH (CBS) -- Several beaches in Plymouth reopened to the public Sunday afternoon after a shark sighting Saturday prompted the closures.
Plymouth lobsterman Bob Ward reported seeing the 15-foot great white shark about a half-mile east of Manomet Point Saturday afternoon. He was pulling traps when the shark swam up to his boat.
Plymouth Long Beach, White Horse Beach, Nelson's and Steven's field swim areas were shut down, according to the Plymouth Harbormaster, but have now reopened.
The harbormaster says there have been no additional shark sightings since.
