Plenty of Sunshine Ahead...But First, A Few Clouds & Showers
After a great Sunday with sunshine and cirrus with highs in the Lwr 70's, clouds are on the increase this evening ahead of an approaching cold front. Showers are currently located over the eastern Great lakes and shifting eastward towards New England. Lows will hold in the lwr 50's as clouds increase and thicken overnight.
Monday will start off with clouds and scattered light spotty showers. These showers will be extremely light with no more than a few tenth's of an inch of rain at the most. Best chance of showers will be in the morning through the midday. The cold front will take most of the day to finally push off the coast. With more clouds than sun, temps will mostly hold in the 60's to near 70. Sunshine will begin to develop in the afternoon in Northern and Western New England. Clouds will begin to erode and break along the coastline by mid afternoon hours with the Cape likely stuck in the clouds for most of the day. Strong cold air advection will be pushing into the NW for the afternoon, with the colder air settling in over the region with clear skies Monday night and a chilly breeze from the north. Lows will drop into the lwr 40's by dawn on Tuesday
Cool high pressure will settle in over us Tuesday with chilly NE winds for the coast. High will only be in the Lwr 60's, even with close to 100% of the sun. Winds will be light as the high crests over us and this will set the stage for an ideal evening of radiational cooling Tuesday night with lows dropping into the 30's overnight. There is the potential for some patchy frost in the NW valleys early Wednesday morning. A very cool start at the bus stop for this time of year.
As the high slides off the coast, warmer wsw winds will start o shift in and allow temps to moderate into the mid 70's for the end of the week, Thursday & Friday with sunshine still holding steady. A warm front will approach Friday with a few clouds. SW winds will hold much of Saturday to keep temps in the 70's. A slow moving cold front will be sliding through on the weekend. Showers will likely develop late Saturday, and possibly continue on and off into Sunday. That is a while away, so we will focus on the near term weather....which looks mighty fine once we get these clouds out of the way. Skies will be beautiful this week for enjoying the full Harvest Moon. Also chck out Venus and Saturn in the WSW sky 1 hour after sunset the next few evenings.
